System Concepts, Inc. was founded in 1984
as a full-service solution provider of
Automatic Data Collection Solutions.
Through the 1980s and mid-1990s we became
a leader in providing solutions, services
and support utilizing data collection
technologies. In the late 1990s we began
to install RFID applications into
industrial customer accounts. These
installations presented a substantial
learning curve. The problems we
encountered included:
- Understanding when and how to apply
different reader frequencies
- Encapsulating and mounting tags
- Controlling the manufacturing
devices found in industrial applications
- Filtering voluminous data generated
by RFID systems
- Minimizing radio frequency
interference
- Applying the different tag format
standards
- Birthing tags
- Interfacing to legacy enterprise
systems and databases
- Diagnosing reader and tag anomalies
- Connecting to the various interfaces
of different readers
A significant portion of each sale was
consumed by custom software development to
solve these problems. In 2003 the company
committed to launching TraxWare™, which is
a compendium of the RFID experience we
have accumulated over the years. TraxWare
is targeted at industrial customers, Value
Added Resellers (VARs) entering the RFID
market, and software OEMs desiring to
incorporate RFID into their applications.
Other turnkey RFID products include OnTrax
and On Portal.
